Fruit leather packaging requires balancing product protection with visual appeal—the packaging must showcase the product's natural color and texture while protecting it from damage and environmental exposure. The infeed system uses adjustable-width product lanes with low-friction guide surfaces that maintain strip alignment without excessive lateral pressure that could compress or deform the product. The forming box is configured with reduced-height guides that create a looser film tube, preventing the tight wrap that could crush soft fruit leather. For the transparent or windowed films commonly used in this category, the film path uses polished roller surfaces and anti-static ionization to prevent dust attraction and surface scratching that would degrade the consumer's view of the product. Cold-seal film is standard for fruit leather because the product's high sugar content makes it heat-sensitive—sugar softens and can cause sticking at the temperatures used for heat-seal films.
