The filling system uses a specialized auger with gentle-flight geometry that moves tea leaves without crushing, combined with a vibratory feed hopper that prevents bridging of the interlocking leaf shapes. Static electricity—a significant problem with dry tea leaves—is controlled through ionizing bars along the product path and film handling areas, preventing leaf dust from accumulating on seal surfaces. The nitrogen flushing system injects inert gas at multiple points: into the hopper to displace ambient air during filling, into the pouch headspace before sealing, and as a final purge immediately before jaw closure. This multi-stage approach achieves residual oxygen levels suitable for premium tea shelf life of 18-24 months. For pyramid tea bag formats, the machine includes a specialized forming and sealing station that creates the characteristic tetrahedral shape with a string-and-tag attachment system. The entire machine is designed for quick cleanout between tea varieties to prevent flavor cross-contamination.
