Coffee mug gift sets and promotional packs combine products with different shapes and fragility levels—a rigid ceramic mug alongside a flexible coffee bag—creating packaging challenges that standard product wrappers are not designed to address. ECHO Machinery's coffee mug packaging machines are configured for these multi-component products with adjustable forming box height and configurable product guides that accommodate the irregular overall shape. The product infeed uses a flighted conveyor with adjustable lug spacing to maintain product orientation through the wrapping cycle. The film selection depends on the desired presentation: standard polypropylene or polyethylene film provides a tight, clear overwrap for product visibility; shrink film (applied loosely then passed through a heat tunnel after wrapping) provides the tightest wrap with a high-gloss finish that enhances perceived product quality. The tear-tape applicator positions a narrow pull-strip on the package interior that provides a clean opening path—important for gift products where the consumer must access contents without damaging the packaging graphics. For branded promotional packs, registered printed film with the coffee brand's graphics can be used, with the optical registration system maintaining alignment on the irregularly shaped product.
